I guess the craziest thing that could happen in writing my first Blog entry would be to start suffering from the writer block? Oh well ... I'll get over it and start saying that this is YOUR blog fellow International-aholics ... so no really worries if I have nothing to write right?
Yeah, yeah, I can already hear you saying ... "This is the usual wishy-washy so called coach - I am not going to give you an answer, you will find all your answers, you are the only one accountable etc etc etc".
But this is really your corner - I really mean it!!!
Ok, here is the deal ... I promise I will fill these blog with absolutely unmissable thoughts for all of you who REALLY believe the world does not have any borders and anything is possible ... ANYTHING!
And believe me, I have already gone through it all ... 6 years ago I thought it was basically impossible to find a job in London, I mean, I job that could really be for me ... people were keeping on telling me that what I wanted for something just for the "few", for the few smart, business politically savvy and with special "connections"!! Typical! The world is a bad place and mission in life is to either play the offense or the defense - no other options.
And so, here is the question ... how much do we let our people make decisions for us and how much are we willing to take risks on our own ... how much do we convince ourselves that something is impossible just because ... just because ... just because. How much do we hear ourselves says "Yes, BUT" - "Yes, BUT" - "Yes, BUT" ...
My profile does emphasise my Italian origins, I deeply love my country and I deeply love my culture - I also recognise that as Italians we do tend to put constraints on ourselves for emotions and bonds that risk to jeopardise our full freedom. So, how much do we let our emotional "chains" decide for us, our "virtual" birth cord tie us to our past?
And what do you think? How long do you think we keep on being fed by our birth cord? If you really want, how can we break it?
Take care!!
Giulia
Welcome to the international-aholic corner!
Maybe you already know what a chocolate-aholic is (not that you might be one!) or you keep on being told how work-aholic you are, or maybe you have just watched the new movie “Confession of a shop-aholic” … oh well … if you are here it is because you are for sure an international-aholic.
A genuine, nutty, Peter Pan style personification of a pure international-aholic breed – and to you, fellow international-aholic friend – welcome with all my heart!
With all my international-aholic heart indeed!
And here is our corner – to share our international-aholic successes, addictions, frustrations, misses, laughs, angers, discoveries …
This is the corner for international-aholics who believe the world is an open, free and exciting land rather than one border after the other.
This is the corner for international-aholics who don’t believe a language can inhibit communication or a culture mutual understanding.
This is the corner for international-aholics who believe the limit in their international lives is just their imagination!
Have fun!
